This is my latest instrumental called Sinner. The beat has a summer sound similar to that of a Big Sean X Tyga Club Trap Type Beat. The beat has a hook in the chorus of the beat.
Tyga has some of the most minimalistic trap instrumentals. Most of the time you will just hear a very simplistic trap drum pattern with a massive rolling 808 and layered with a basic melody. And that's it...
I wanted to capture that vibe here. I used a detuned male vocal to create a dark but commercial sounding hook. This is a very common element in Tyga's music. His producers like DJ Mustard have produced some of Tyga's most successful songs.
And the majority of them are produced using a male or female vocal hook. One similar instrumental I can recall is that of the track "TASTE". Which was produced by D. A. Doman.

Behind The Making Of This Instrumental
The drum pattern is very basic and drops out at various sections of the beat to create a song structure for the artist. The beat follows a pretty standard commercial rap song structure. Intro - Verse - Pre Hook - Hook - Verse 2 - Pre Hook - Hook - Middle 8 {808 SOLO/VOX} - Outro.
This beat was built off a chopped vocal sample, it's a trippy melodic trap beat. There is a ton of space for a rapper to vibe with this beat both with in the verses of the beat and the hook.
Even though the beat is melodic doesn't sound too dark or grim. There is an air of optimism about the beat.
The background of the beat has various detuned pad sounds which help hide the silence in the song and help build the atmosphere.
The male vocal chops are the star of the beat just like the Tyga Taste example I provided above.
